Welcome to the Hisabh do campaign!
What is the Hisabh Do campaign --> Hisabh Do campaign
is an effort to ensure that there is complete transparency in the manner
our BMC corporators (who are elected by us) utilize the funds which are
meant for civic works in their respective electoral wards. The campaign
aims to find out what is the process for determining what work is to
completed within the allocated funds, whether the people who elect the
corporator have a say in the same, if so what is the process of consulting
them.
A questionnaire was sent to all corporators on in Feb
2008 and it is expected that our corporators will provide us with the
information we have asked for.

The questionnaire sent to the
Corporators has been divided into 4 sections:
a. Details of fund allocation
b. Details of fund utilization
c. Information provided to voters
about fund utilization
d. Consultation with voters
regarding fund utilization
The questionnaire tries to find the extent of community
participation, accountability and transparency of our elected
representatives in local governance in this process, much beyond fund
allocation and utilization.

A letter subsequently was sent to the leaders of
political parties in Mumbai requesting the corporators to encourage
their corporators to provide the information through the

A press conference was held on 27th Feb to convey the
details of this campaign to the media and citizens at large. A media
