Solutions to inefficiency of Indian Police Force> Introduction

Here is a brief overlook of the three suggested recommendations to improve the Indian police force efficiency. These recommendations are related to improvement of training, equipment and recruitment. Hence this is not a guarantee for a change of the mindset within the police force which must be kept in mind. An overview of the strength of comparative strengths of the Police Force in various countries and India is shown below.

 As we observe below, a majority of the police force is below the ASI level and hence not empowered with investigative powers. This increases the burden on the a few officers and as a result we have a scenario where each officer has to deal with investigation of several cases each year.
